Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of making sure a website follows all the rules established by the primary search engines, such as Google, so that the website is indexed as well as possible. The task of search engine optimization is good for the website, the search engines, and people surfing the web. Why?

Humans count by tens, 'cause we have ten fingers, but computers count by twos because they use on/off switches (binary). So we have a one's place, multiply by ten to get a ten's place, then by ten again to get a hundred's place etc.

When I was younger I was able to keep track of all my appointments and tasks in my head. That was back when I had no kids, no spouse, a job with a steady paycheck, and only a couple of dogs for pets. I was pretty good at it too, and rarely missed a thing. As I got older, my life became more complicated. Having a spouse basically doubled the appointments in my head. The kids more than doubled the appointments and tasks, as did additional pets. Eventually, reluctantly, I realized I could not do this in my head anymore.

My grandpa was a janitor in a little town in Kansas, and he loved his job. When I was a little girl, I asked him why he became a janitor and why he liked the job. His answer was the same for both questions, and I remember that answer to this day. “I like being my own boss,” Grandpa said.
